The Republic of Croatia is a European country situated along
the Adriatic Sea and its hinterland..
Croatia extends from the furthest eastern edges of the Alps in
the north-west to the Pannonian lowlands and the banks of the
Danube in the east; its central region is covered by the Dinara
mountain range, and its southern parts extend to the coast of
the Adriatic Sea.
Croatia
is a country of more than 1,185 islands, islets and reefs, most

The Adriatic coast-5,835.3 km, of which 4,058 km comprise the

and Krk; there
are 47 inhabited islands.

Adriatic coast have a pleasantly mild Mediterranean climate with
a large number of sunny days; summers are dry and hot, winters

is the most magnificent and well preserved fortified city in the
world, its history dates back to the 6th century. The old city
is fully encapsulated by its fortified walls stretching 1940 meter's.

Cathedral of St. Jacob
in Šibenik.The building
of the church was initiated in 1402 when Šibenik became a municipality.

Roman
city of Trogir. Trogir was founded by Greek colonists
from Vis in the 3rd century. The historical core of the city is
the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic complex in the Central Europe.The
grandest building of Trogir is surely the church of St. Lawrence,

Chapel in Poreč. The mosaics of the Basilica of St.
Euphrasius together with the mosaics of San Vitale in Ravenna
are the most important example of mosaic art in Europe.

Diocletian palace in
Split. The Peristyle of the palace, Diokletian's
mausoleum, Jupiter's temple, colonnades, early croatian churches,
Romanesque houses, the gates of Andrija Buvina and the work by
Juraj Dalmatinac are preserved in a good state.
In
Croatia there are seven National parks, The
Plitvice Lakes are situated in the continental region of Lika,
half way between Zagreb
and Zadar.
VRANSKO
JEZERO (VRANSKO LAKE), is the largest
lake in Croatia (covers area of about 30 square). Vransko Lake
is very popular destination for freshwater fishing holidays as
well as for bird watchers.
